Can you make a living out of trading?

06:08
Can you make a living out of this? http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/Making-a-living-spreads.html Daniel Moczulski of Star Financial Systems comments. How much money and time you need to do it professionally. I think you certainly can make a living out of trading and some do. I have to be blunt - when clients trade with us we see their trades; we do not see the amount of effort they put into those trades. Let me be clear on this. It is not easy and whenever I speak to profitable traders I can see they are absorbed by the financial markets and they put in a lot of effort. How much do the top spread bettors actually make? People view trading and spread betting in different ways. So the person who does it for a living might view winning 100k in a year as a good payout while a part-time trader would be happy for earning just 10k in a year. I always remember a particular winning 5 or 6 million pounds. How do losers think? How do winners manage risk? The clue is in the question there - and its the discipline - successful traders actually manage their risk. What kind of skills and character traits make a good trader? It is understand the risk/reward and profitable traders really do understand the relationship between fear and greed. Do short-term/day traders make more money than long-term traders? If they're good at it both make money. A short-term day trader has to really be glued to the screen and is far more involved in every trade he puts on. The long term trader doesn't operate like that and may not even look at it for the next 3 or 4 months. It also depends on the volatility of the market... What size accounts do the most profitable traders have? Are high net individuals more serious in their trading? This is a difficult question but good traders have accounts in excess of 2k definitely. When people open an account they tend to look at the minimum amount required to open an account but perhaps more important is the size of the trade you can put on.

Can you make a living out of trading?

Can you make a living out of trading? http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/Making-a-living-spreads.html David Morrison responds. How much money do you need to put into trading? PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE so we can bring you more! How much time do you need to dedicate? Yes, you definitely can and there are traders who make a living out of trading. There has always been people who have been making money on their own trading the financial markets. Other people are just happy to dabble or trade on a part-time basis which I would consider is a sensible approach. If you really wanted to make trading your living, then you would likely know that before doing it. Don't give up your day job unless you are sure - at first just try your hand at it. How does one manage the inevitable drawdown? The best way to manage drawdown is to expect them; that they are inevitable in trading. It all comes down to sensible risk management.

What is it like being a self-employed day trader?

What is it like being a self-employed day trader? http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/ David Morrison Market Commentator and Trader comments. If you've found this video useful, please click the like button and share it with your friends and remember to SUBSCRIBE to remain up-to-date! Being a "trader" simply isn't glamourous. Please comment. Well it can be a bit lonely, a bit frustrating at times. I don't do it 5 days a week. It can be rewarding and it can be very frustrating. If you're on your own you don't have people to bounce ideas on. That's why things like twitter are useful. Are there any trading clubs? I think there is still a lot of glamour surrounding trading.

What are the requirements to become a top trader at Ayondo?

06:17
Sarah Brylewski of Ayondo http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/spreadbetting/Ayondo-compare.html comments. What are the requirements to become a top trader? How many Top Traders do you have currently? Isn’t there a risk that this could lead to manipulation of some markets? To become a top trader at Ayondo you need to know how to do your trading; if you are successful then you climb up the latter. You need to deliver consistent performance on your trading performance. As soon as you are successful people start watching you and follow your performance and your strategies and if they trust that you could continue delivering your performance they will start following you. How do you find top traders? What's we've done is that we have created a trading career which has 5 different levels so investors can see if the trader is new or experienced and whether his trading is successful. We have over a thousand of our traders who are visible in our career system; of course the majority are at the lower level.

Is trading foreign exchange harder than trading stocks?

06:58
Is trading foreign exchange http://www.financial-spread-betting.com/forex/spread-betting-forex.html harder than trading stocks? David Morrison comments. PLEASE LIKE AND SHARE so we can bring you more! They both have their own challenges. Trading an individual stocks depends on the kind of information you are getting. People who like to follow certain shares like to think that they have some advantage over others. I would say that there is more scope to trade the forex markets successfully How can one be a good forex trader? Are there any retail traders who are successful trading the forex markets? Let's assume an intraday trader; for anyone doing this, discipline is absolutely key. That means doing your homework and understanding the fundamentals drivers of a particular market.

03:26
Visit: http://www.livetradesystem.com Or, http://www.livetradesystem.co/day-trading TAKIT Pro – #1 Day Trading Software for stocks, commodities, currency. Day Trading is very profitable but dangerous without proper guidance. Hence, TAKIT Professional, the ultimate software for Day trading. This software automatically shows you the Buy and Sell signals on the live chart. Green arrow shows BUY signal and Red arrow shows SELL signal. It does all the analysis job for you and show the best opportunities to trade on intraday. Apart from accurate Buy and Sell signals you are also getting TAKIT PRO PROFIT ESTIMATOR which is a software to show you the target profit. Day Trading Strategy with revolutionary results. Peoples love TAKIT Pro because of its highly efficient Day Trading Strategy and Technique which is formulated inside. We are a team of highly experienced professionals comprising of software developers, stock market strategist, qualified day traders who are in this market for more than 5 years. Stop Loss NOT required. The excellent feature of this software is that “Stop Loss is NOT necessary”. For example you get a Buy signal @ 499/-. Then if the Buy signal gives you loss and the price falls then automatically a REVERSE Sell signal will come. This REVERSE signal will completely protect you from loss. A perfect Day Trading System for positional traders also. TAKIT Professional is equally beneficial for the Positional Traders also. Actually the profit margin for Positional Trades is very high than Intraday calls and its accuracy is much higher. The system to trade in positional is just to follow the signals one after another. No need to put any stop loss. This software gives you daily profit. Out of 10 consecutive Buy and Sell signals, might be 2 signals give slight loss. But the rest of 8 signals will give you huge profit. This is the main excellence of this software TAKIT Professional. Learn Day Trading in the easiest way. You may find thousands of websites and books to learn Intraday Trading or Daily Trading. But they are all very descriptive and create confusion among Intraday Traders. What TAKIT Pro does is its internal technology calculates all the market statistics and history at a time every second. Its a self learning software for Day Trading Shares. Which Day Trading Shares gives the most profit? This is perhaps the million dollar question of stock market. There are 1000 + Trading Shares in stock market. Now we recommend the highly traded large cap Shares and Indices like Reliance, Wipro, Bank Nifty, Nifty and many others. In Commodities you can go with Gold, Silver, Nickel, Copper and many others. After purchasing we give the details of the most profitable Day Trading Shares for Intraday Trading and Positional Trading. TAKIT Pro works very good for positional/short term trades also. This software is also beneficial for those who dont have time to intraday trading. Because, in positional trading it gives long profit margins. It can give you 5 to 15 times more profit in positional trading that in intraday trading. We give accurate data. Other companies are charging monthly recurring fees for real time data. But in TAKIT Professional you are getting Real Time Data of equities and commodities FREE for 10 years. Yes its unbelievable but 100% true. All the data is accurate and realtime. Hence, you are saving minimum Rs. 12,000/- every year. Who can use this software? Though it is designed basically for Day Traders but TAKIT Professional is being used over 6 years by broking farms, analysts, traders and short term investors. Lifetime commitment to you. We guarantee you that TAKIT Professional will be your friend for Lifetime. This is not a commitment but a guarantee. Just a one-time payment for Lifetime. We are providing the most expensive Real Time Data of equities, commodities and currencies completely free of cost. Hence, it is the cheapest software in the market because no other company can provide real time data free of cost. How we are providing data for free? Firstly, we believe on high volume sales. Means the more customers purchase this software, automatically the cost of maintaining servers and technology will minimize. Plus we are having all our technology, engineers and servers of our own. So its a huge cost effective way and easy maintainable.

Dark Pools: Private Electronic Stock Trading - Financial Markets, Securities, Investors (2012)

01:21:20
Some markets allow dark liquidity to be posted inside the existing limit order book alongside public liquidity, usually through the use of iceberg orders. More on dark pools: https://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&tag=tra0c7-20&linkCode=ur2&linkId=f90378849d15aadf8ed8f0403284942f&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=books&keywords=dark%20pools Iceberg orders generally specify an additional "display quantity"—i.e., smaller than the overall order quantity. The order is queued along with other orders but only the display quantity is printed to the market depth. When the order reaches the front of its price queue, only the display quantity is filled before the order is automatically put at the back of the queue and must wait for its next chance to get a fill. Such orders will, therefore, get filled less quickly than the fully public equivalent, and they often carry an explicit cost penalty in the form of a larger execution cost charged by the market. Iceberg orders are not truly dark either, as the trade is usually visible after the fact in the market's public trade feed. Truly dark liquidity can be collected off-market in dark pools. Dark pools are generally very similar to standard markets with similar order types, pricing rules and prioritization rules. However, the liquidity is deliberately not advertised—there is no market depth feed. Such markets have no need of an iceberg-order type. In addition, they prefer not to print the trades to any public data feed, or if legally required to do so, will do so with as large a delay as legally possible—all to reduce the market impact of any trade. Dark pools are often formed from brokers' order books and other off-market liquidity. When comparing pools, careful checks should be made as to how liquidity numbers were calculated—some venues count both sides of the trade, or even count liquidity that was posted but not filled. Dark liquidity pools offer institutional investors many of the efficiencies associated with trading on the exchanges' public limit order books but without showing their actions to others. Dark liquidity pools avoid this risk because neither the price nor the identity of the trading company is displayed.[7] Dark pools are recorded to the national consolidated tape. However, they are recorded as over-the-counter transactions. Therefore, detailed information about the volumes and types of transactions is left to the crossing network to report to clients if they desire and are contractually obligated.[8] Dark pools allow funds to line up and move large blocks of equities without tipping their hands as to what they are up to. Modern trading platforms and the lack of human interaction have reduced the time scale on market movements. This increased responsiveness of the price of an equity to market pressures has made it more difficult to move large blocks of stock without affecting the price.[9] Dark pools are run by private brokerages which operate under fewer regulatory and public disclosure requirements than public exchanges.[10] Tabb Group estimates trading on the dark pools accounts for 32% of trades in 2012 vs 26% in 2008. For an asset that can be only publicly traded, the standard price discovery process is generally assumed to ensure that at any given time the price is approximately "correct" or "fair". However, very few assets are in this category since most can be traded off market without printing the trade to a publicly accessible data source. As the proportion of the daily volume of the asset that is traded in such a hidden manner increases, the public price might still be considered fair. However, if public trading continues to decrease as hidden trading increases, it can be seen that the public price does not take into account all information about the asset (in particular, it does not take into account what was traded but hidden) and thus the public price may no longer be "fair". Yet when trades executed in dark pools are incorporated into a post-trade transparency regime, investors have access to them as a part of a consolidated tape. This can aid price discovery because institutional investors who are reluctant to tip their hands in lit market still have to trade and thus a dark pool with post-trade transparency improves price discovery by increasing the amount of trading taking place. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dark_pool

tastytrade Interviews Former Long-Term Capital Management Trader Dr. Philip Maymin

https://www.tastytrade.com/tt/ Dr. Philip Maymin is back to talk with Tom and Tony. Dr. Maymin started working for Long-Term Capital Management right out of grad school. He discusses what it was like working for LTCM and what happened leading up to the collapse of the firm in 1998. LTCM was able to deploy capital without any margin requirement, similar to floor traders in the 1990's. Though the difference being they were not able to manage winners in the same way as retail traders are able to. How Much Money Do You Need to Start Trading for a Living?

05:23
How Much Money Do You Need to Start Trading for a Living? ★ SUMMARY ★ When I look at this question, I see the answer in two parts: 1) what kind of lifestyle do you want? and 2) how much money do you need to start trading to get to that lifestyle? Lifestyle What kind of lifestyle do you want? You will first need to answer this question before moving on to the next. Do you want to party 5 nights a week and spend $200 a night? Do you want to live in a $5 million mansion? Maybe you just want to be a stay-at-home parent who has a few hundred dollars a month to help support your family. This also applies to where you wish to live. If you're trading in the U.S. market but living in Costa Rica, the lifestyle costs are different. You need to do some research and calculate what type of lifestyle you need or want and configure costs... UK Investors Forum: How to Avoid Losing Money Trading

31:16
This video was filmed at the UK Investor Show. Tickets for the 2015 Show are available at www.ukinvestorshow.com Traders Session with Clem Chambers, Alpesh Patel, Thierry Laduguie, Malcolm Stacey, Phillip Marks, Robert Tratt. Alpesh once wrote a book 'The Mind of a Trader'. One of the things I don't understand about trading is that 70% of people end up losing all their money. Leverage is a big danger although some people are able to keep trading and make money. According to Thierry the key is education, obviously if you gamble you will lose money but if you stick to sensible risk management you will improve your chances at making money. Clem says that people think what is going to happen as opposed to knowing what will happen.

Forex Money Management: Simple Forex Trading Money Management Strategies!

10:51
Follow this guy and you'll manage your money like a pro (i.e. your account will grow). One of the highest trading success rates I've seen to date, and I've been trading a while. - http://currencycashcow.com Forex Money Management: Simple Forex Money Management Strategies Stop You Blowing Up Your Account! Money management forex strategies (aka forex risk management) are the most basic, yet most critically important to get right because ultimately your long-term success as a trader relies not on how often you win, but rather how much you win when you are right verses how much you lose when you are wrong. Even traders with a high forex probability expectation, or in other words a high win rate of say 70-80% can still lose money over all, if their forex losers are significantly larger than their winners. Forex traders who have stood the test of time and have become successful have at some point come to grips with the reality that losing is a part of trading and there are times when your forex losers are consecutive. This is why using a forex stop loss and having a conservative forex stop loss strategy is so important. In addition to this it is also vitally important that you only risk a small percentage of your overall capital at any one time. 5% capital allocation is not too aggressive, nor conservative in terms of real risk and on a $5000 trading account means the maximum amount of capital risked at any point in time is just $250. The next thing to consider when analysing trading opportunities is the forex risk reward ratio. A basic and commonly used benchmark in currency trading is a 1:2 forex risk reward ratio. The goal here is to win $2 for every $1 lost or in terms of pips to have a forex profit target or win of at least 200 pips for every 100 pips lost, while still only placing 5% of your total risk capital in the market at any one point in time. This conservative approach to forex risk management will give you a significant window of opportunity and (hopefully) allow you stay in the forex trading game long enough to become consistently profitable, even when faced with a string of losses, which under more aggressive strategies may well blow up your trading account! I hope you find this forex trading money management tutorial video helpful and which you much success with your trading! Penny Stock Rules

07:54
Penny Stock Rules- In last week’s blog regarding FINRA’s request to eliminate the OTC Bulletin Board quotation service (OTCBB) and to adopt rules relating to the quotation requirements for OTC equity services by inter-dealer quotation services, I touched upon the significance of penny stock rules related to the OTC marketplace. As further described herein, penny stocks are low-priced securities (under $5.00 per share) and are considered speculative and risky investments. Penny stock rules focus on the activity of broker-dealers in effectuating trades in penny stocks. As a result of the risk associated with penny stock trading, Congress enacted the Securities Enforcement Remedies and Penny Stock Reform Act of 1990 (the “Penny Stock Act”) requiring the SEC to enact rules requiring brokers or dealers to provide disclosures to customers effecting trades in penny stocks. The rules prohibit broker-dealers from effecting transactions in penny stocks unless they comply with the requirements of Section 15(h) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, as amended (the “Exchange Act”) and the rules promulgated thereunder and, in particular, Exchange Act rules 15g-1 through 15g-100 (the “penny stock rules”). Section 17B of the Exchange Act, which was enacted as part of the Penny Stock Act, regulates automated quotation systems for penny stocks (such as OTC Markets) and provides, among other things, that the SEC shall facilitate the widespread dissemination of reliable and accurate last sale and quotation information with respect to penny stocks. Definition of Penny Stock A penny stock is defined in Exchange Act Rule 3a51-1. Like many SEC rules, the penny stock rule begins by including all equity securities and then carves out exemptions (for example, all offers and sales of securities must be registered unless an exemption applies). In particular, Rule 3a51-1 defines a penny stock as any equity security other than: (a) A NMS (national market system) stock that is a reported security that is (i) registered on a national securities exchange that is grandfathered in because it has been in continuous operation since prior to April 20, 1992; or (ii) is quoted on either a national securities exchange or automated quotation system that that has certain quantitative initial listing standards and continued listing standards that are reasonably related to the initial listing standards. The initial listing standards must meet or exceed the following criteria: (a) the issuer must have $5 million of stockholders’ equity, market value of listed securities of $50 million for 90 consecutive days prior to applying, or net income of $750,000 (excluding extraordinary or non-recurring items) in the most recently completed fiscal year or in two or the last three most recently completed fiscal years; (b) the issuer must have an operating history of at least one year or a market value of listed securities of $50 million; (c) the issuer’s stock must have a minimum bid price of $4 per share; (d) there shall be at least 300 round lot holders of common stock; and (e) there must be at least 1,000,000 publicly held common shares with a market value of at least $5 million. (b) Is issued by an investment company registered under the Investment Company Act of 1940, as amended; (c) Is a put or call option issued by the Options Clearing Corporation; (d) Has an inside bid quotation price of $5.00 (the Rule requires that the price be net of broker or dealer commissions, mark-up or mark-downs); (e) Is registered, or approved for registration upon notice of issuance, on a national securities exchange that makes price and volume transaction reports available, subject to restrictions provided in the rule; (f) Is a security futures product listed on a national securities exchange or an automated quotation system sponsored by a registered national securities association; or (g) Whose issuer has: (i) net tangible assets (as calculated in accordance with the rule) in excess of $2 million, if the issuer has been in continuous operation for at least three years, or $5 million, if the issuer has been in continuous operation for less than three years; or (ii) average revenue (as calculated in accordance with the rule) of at least $6 million for the last three years. At The Dynamic Trader, we share our trend trading strategies so traders can learn to trade the markets and the trends within them. With our money management techniques we always protect our capital and look to use the appropriate trend trading strategy that compliments the current market condition. Our trend trading systems can be applied to any market including forex, stocks or commodities but we look for only high probability trade set ups. In fact, trend trading is far more relaxing and accommodating, allowing a trader to maintain their current lifestyle and make money from the markets. Little time is required to analyse, enter, manage and exit a trade. Unlike many traders that use a multitude of indicators, our traders focus mainly on price action to establish the trend which simplifies the trade routine and allows for a trading edge when used appropriately.
