Exploring a Large Gold & Silver Mine - Part 2: Amazing Stopes
In part 2 of this video series we continue deeper through the mine into some amazing stopes. We also come across a neat ore cart bridge over a winze. The mine was active between 1904 and the late 1940s mining gold, silver, and lead. The stopes we explore contained lead and silver bearing quartz averaging 15-20% lead and 10 oz of silver. The site is made up of 2 shafts and 2 adits. Only one of the adits is accessible at this time. The mine connects to many other mines in the area, making the workings very large. We only explore a portion of the workings during this series. Thanks for watching! ======================================================== I have respect for the prospectors and miners of the past. Many of them came west with nothing more than the shirt on their backs, then ventured into unforgiving deserts and mountains to find precious ores. They had no guarantee of finding anything, but they were willing to risk it. Through their grit, sweat, and blood they were able to build empires out of the dust. This channel is dedicated to documenting their work and endurance. Mining is what built much of the American West into what it is today. Sadly that heritage has been forgotten. Old mining sites are being closed by governments and corporations with little regard to history. I hope to capture these sites through video, photography, and research so future generations can enjoy them. As I build a catalog I hope to develop online resources and publish a book one day of my findings. ***Abandoned mines are dangerous places. You should never enter an abandoned mine unless you have the proper training and equipment.*** ***Mine locations are not normally shared to protect the sites from vandalism and to keep the public safe from the associated hazards.*** Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/arrowheadun...
Prosperity Goldfields 3D Drill Tour
The Kiyuk project is located in Nunavut, northern Canada one of the most stable mining jurisdictions in the world, approximately 100 km north of the border with Manitoba. View the full PPG chart at Wikinvest The 100% owned project covers 590 sq km. Spring and summer access to the site is by aircraft. Gold showings at Kiyuk were first recognized in 1992 when grassroots exploration sampled up to 22 g/t Au, with visible gold present in all well-mineralized areas. Prosperity secured the property in 2009 and collected more surface samples of which 250 were mineralized with grades up to 37 g/t.

Had a great time at the first Tarnagulla Key Hunt, ended up with a supplementary prize of a book. Also shows some of the local wildlife. For those outside of Australia, Tarnagulla is a town within Victoria's Golden Triangle and at its peak had a population of almost 20,000. Its now almost a ghost town, only kept alive by the propectors who try their luck.

Finding The Gass Mine
It was pure luck (and Mr McBride's nose) that brought us to this one as we had no idea of its existence... And it wasn’t just us – none of the local historians (including those that have written books on the mining history of this area) knew about this mine either when told about it. This mine eroded shut ages ago and had been lost to history. However, a particularly dry season in the area caused the soil to lose some of its cohesion, leading a portion of the roof of the mine to collapse and to expose its secrets. This provided just enough of an opening to the surface for us to discover this mine and for me to squeeze inside. Upon dropping into the mine, I realized that the collapse that revealed the mine was pretty recent and that no had been inside the mine for a very, very long time – probably at least for 100 years. It is an old mine, as one can clearly see the pick marks on the walls and no sign of any modern equipment. There was no sign that any ore cart rails had ever been present either as even in mines where the rails have been completely removed, one can still see the indentations where the ties were. So, it is quite possible that the miners lugged the ore and waste rock out by hand or by using animals. The timbers inside the mine were shriveled up and rotted away to almost nothing, indicating that they were extremely old. The artifacts we discovered around the mine dated to around the middle of the 1800s. And, judging by the size of the waste rock pile, this was a significant mine in its day. This was one of those extraordinary discoveries that a mine explorer lives for and, undoubtedly, this is the first video footage to ever emerge of this virgin mine. ***** Growing up in California’s “Gold Rush Country” made it easy to take all of the history around us for granted. However, abandoned mine sites have a lot working against them – nature, vandals, scrappers and various government agencies… The old prospectors and miners that used to roam our lonely mountains and toil away deep underground are disappearing quickly as well. These losses finally caught our attention and we felt compelled to make an effort to document as many of the ghost towns and abandoned mines that we could before that niche of our history is gone forever. But, guess what? We have fun doing it! This is exploring history firsthand – bushwhacking down steep canyons and over rough mountains, figuring out the techniques the miners used and the equipment they worked with, seeing the innovations they came up with, discovering lost mines that no one has been in for a hundred years, wandering through ghost towns where the only sound is the wind... These journeys allow a feeling of connection to a time when the world was a very different place. And I’d love to think that in some small way we are paying tribute to those hardy miners that worked these mines before we were even born. So, yes, in short, we are adit addicts… I hope you’ll join us on these adventures! #ExploringAbandonedMines #MineExploring #AbandonedMines

Green ore - Going Alone
The desert has drawn treasure hunters for centuries. Sometimes, when I'm alone far out in the wastes, I'll stumble upon the rocks and ore which drew prospectors here. Often, they left, finding no satisfactory way to return with their prize, leaving it in the ground, or in piles on the surface of the Earth. The prize I'm after in coming here alone is just as likely to remain here after I’m gone, as I've yet not found any satisfactory way to return to civilization with my pockets full of empty. Satellite imagery led me to a remote desert location where I thought I might find unusual geology, or perhaps even the remains of 19th century mining activity. I found both, though I still don't know what this curious green ore is. Copper is a likely guess, though I'll have to wait until my next visit to the Mojave River Mining Museum for a chance to ask the expert old timers there. ----- My name is Kurt Bell and I am delighted that you have taken some time to share a little of The Good Life with me. Champion Spark Plug Mine and Camp Exploration AKA Jeffrey Mine
This video takes us to the Champion Spark Plug Mine, also known as the Jeffrey Mine, near Bishop CA. on 4-30-2018. The rugged trail climbs 3100 feet over 3.5 miles through Jeffrey Mine Canyon. There is a well preserved miners camp about 2 miles from the trail head. The actual mine is another 1.5 miles up the mountain making the round trip about 7 miles long. It was here that in 1920 Dr. Joseph Jeffrey, a dental surgeon, discovered a large deposit of Sillimanite, a mineral useful in making high quality porcelain. Sillimanite is one of three aluminosilicate polymorphs, the other two being andalusite and kyanite. The Champion company used the mineral from this mine to increase the strength and quality of the porcelain insulator portion of their spark plugs. The mine operated from 1921 to 1945 producing 26,457 tons of andalusite/sillimanite ore valued at $184,000 and in the 1920's was the only commercial source of andalusite in the world. The ore was transported down the mountain by 16 mules, two strings of 8 each, and 2 freighters or packers who ran the teams. The mule teams made two trips per day, winter and summer, using a pack saddle to protect them from the heavy load which consisted of a 95 pound sack of ore on each side of the pack saddle. There was a corral at the base of the trail for the mules to be cared for and also a facility to transfer the ore to trucks that took it to a loading station on the Nevada & California narrow gauge railroad and train named the Slim Princess. In Mina, Nevada the ore was transferred to standard gauge Southern Pacific Railroad trains and shipped to Detroit for processing. The Champion Sillimanite Company of Detroit, Michigan, processed the ore to manufacture high temperature refractory materials used in their spark plugs. Sillimanite has since been replaced by a synthetic material called mullite.

City of Gold, South Pass City - Main Street, Wyoming
From the initial discovery of gold in the mid 1800's to the creation of a state historic site, South Pass City has witnessed much of Wyoming's history. In addition to being the site of Wyoming's first big gold strike, South Pass City was instrumental in Wyoming becoming a territory and ultimately a state. It was the birthplace of women's suffrage, the first territory to grant women the right to vote and hold public office. But South Pass City is perhaps best known as Wyoming's first boom and bust town, with hard working and hard drinking miners, loose women, gambling and the entrepreneurial businesses who profited from their dreams of instant wealth.

Crawling Undergound: The Silver Peak Mine
Another Nevada mine - this one has been prospected for gold, and actually paid quite well in the past. The mine dump has an abundance of nice quartz crystals, and scattered lumps of galena, aragonite, massive quartz, and many other minerals. This will be 2 parts - the first part is the workings that we could access, the rest is some of the prospect workings, and the townsite below the mill with various artifacts and the like. I'm still working on listing all the different minerals, but so far: gold pyrite aragonite malachite galena arsenopyrite calcite (unaltered aragonite) hematite Probably some antimony ore in there as well, but testing is inconclusive. Upper level Silver Queen, the two lower levels are partially blocked. These are the drives onto the Julia Reef. On second level a stope has collapsed and diverted the stream into the mine and that makes it now almost impossible to get into, we got as far as the collapse (crawling) and had a waterfall pouring on us; might give it a go in the summer when its dryer. Ann Bale writes about this one in her book "Maratoto Gold".

From Bitcoin To Hedera Hashgraph (Documentary) Hidden Secrets Of Money Episode 8
Bonus Features: http://www.hiddensecretsofmoney.com Today, mankind stands at a crossroads, and the path that humanity chooses may have a greater impact on our freedom and prosperity than any event in history. In 2008 a new technology was introduced that is so important that its destiny, and the destiny of mankind are inextricably linked. It is so powerful that if captured and controlled, it could enslave all of humanity. But if allowed to remain free and flourish - it could foster unimaginable levels of peace and prosperity. It has the power to replace all financial systems globally, to supplant ninety percent of Wall St, and to provide some functions of government. It has no agenda. It's always fair and impartial. It can not be manipulated, subverted, corrupted or cheated. And - it inverts the power structure and places control of one's destiny in the hands of the individual. In the future, when we look back at the 2.6 million-year timeline of human development and the major turning points that led to modern civilization - the creation of farming, the domestication of animals, the invention of the wheel, the harnessing of electricity and the splitting of the atom - the sixty year development of computers, the internet and this new technology will be looked upon as a single event...a turning point that will change the course of human history. It's called Full Consensus Distibuted Ledger Technology, and so far its major use has been for cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin....but its potential goes far, far beyond that. The Crypto Revolution: From Bitcoin to Hashgraph is our latest episode of Hidden Secrets of Money. It’s about the evolution of cryptocurrencies and full consensus distributed ledger technology, and how they will change our world. I believe that this video is by far the easiest way for the average person to gain an understanding of what cryptocurrencies are and how they work, but more importantly, the immense power of full consensus distributed ledger technology and the impact it will have on our daily lives. I have an absolute passion for monetary history and economics, and I love teaching them. Cryptocurrencies are our future, and there is no escaping it… this is the way everything will be done from now on. But, we now stand at a crucial turning point in history. Full consensus ledgers such as Blockchain and Hashgraph have the power to enslave us, or free us… it all depends on how we choose to use them. If we choose to support centralized versions issued by governments and the financial sector we will be granting them more control over our daily lives. Politicians and bureaucrats will be able raise taxes instantly, whenever they want, on every dollar you make as you make them, and every dollar you spend as you spend them. If they think the economy needs stimulating they'll be able to enforce huge negative interest rates, effectively punishing you for not spending everything you earn before you earn it. They'll be able to decide where you can go and where you can’t, what you can buy and what you can’t, and what you can do and whatever they decide you can’t do… and if they don't like you, they can just disconnect you from the monetary system. So, will the monetary system become fully distributed and help to free mankind, or will it be centralized and enslave us? The choice is in front of us right now, and our decisions will create our future. I believe that this will be a binary outcome, there is no middle ground, it will either be one future or the other. The question is, will it be the future we want? Or the future they want? I’m a precious metals dealer and one thing I’ve learned is that gold, silver, and now free market decentralized cryptocurrencies, represent freedom. Because of this knowledge I started investing in crypto currencies long ago and also became one of the first precious metals dealers to accept bitcoin as payment for gold and silver. I would really appreciate it if you could share this video with everyone you know. I think it’s very important that as many people as possible find out about the changes to the global monetary system that are happening right now… nothing will affect us more, and everyone’s future depends on it. Bitcoin Q&A: Inflation and debt systems
How do you see the roles of debt and inflation changing in society with the advent of cryptocurrencies? Does Bitcoin have the best monetary policy? Bitcoin and many other cryptocurrencies are not debt instruments, whereas most of the popular, state-run forms of currency today are. You can't do fractional reserve banking or issue debt with bitcoin. Airdrops / fork coins are a form of supply inflation. How do you explain the different approaches to cryptocurrencies from China and Japan? The first question is from the patron-only live Q&A which took place on January 27th 2018. The second question is from the first monthly live Patreon Q&A session on November 27th, 2017. The third question is from the patron-only live Q&A which took place on February 24th 2018. 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue / Colloquy 4: The Joe Miller Joke Book / Report on the We-Uns
After Miller's death, John Mottley (1692--1750) brought out a book called Joe Miller's Jests, or the Wit's Vade-Mecum (1739), published under the pseudonym of Elijah Jenkins Esq. at the price of one shilling. This was a collection of contemporary and ancient coarse witticisms, only three of which are told of Miller. This first edition was a thin pamphlet of 247 numbered jokes. This ran to three editions in its first year. Later (not wholly connected) versions were entitled with names such as "Joe Miller's Joke Book", and "The New Joe Miller" to latch onto the popularity of both Joe Miller himself and the popularity of Mottley's first book. It should be noted that joke books of this format (i.e. "Mr Smith's Jests") were common even before this date. It was common practice to learn one or two jokes for use at parties etc. Owing to the quality of the jokes in Mottley's book, their number increasing with each of the many subsequent editions, any time-worn jest came to be called "a Joe Miller", a Joe-Millerism, or simply a Millerism. Joke 99 states: A Lady's Age happening to be questioned, she affirmed she was but Forty, and called upon a Gentleman that was in Company for his Opinion; Cousin, said she, do you believe I am in the Right, when I say I am but Forty? I ought not to dispute it, Madam, reply'd he, for I have heard you say so these ten Years. Joke 234 speaks of: A famous teacher of Arithmetick, who had long been married without being able to get his Wife with Child. One said to her 'Madam, your Husband is an excellent Arithmetician'. 'Yes, replies she, only he can't multiply.' Joe Miller was referred to in Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol (1843), by the character Scrooge, who remarks "Joe Miller never made such a joke as sending [the turkey] to Bob's will be!" Joe Miller was also referred to in James Joyce's "Ulysses" (1922) in the limerick that Lenehan whispers during the Aeolus episode to Stephen Dedalus, the last line of which is "I can't see the Joe Miller. Can you?". According to Leonard Feinberg, the 1734 edition contains one of the oldest examples of gallows humor. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joe_Miller%27s_Joke_Book
